Not suprising
If you knew exactly what you were doing the second you got the modpack, I would look at you in a funny way and slowly back up... it's a fairly difficult concept altogether. If you have the free time, look up Direwolf20 on youtube, and watch his first season of his let's play. What you need to remember is to not try and take on the whole pack at once. Test out each mod, i.e. EE, IC2, Redpower2, etc., separately. From personal experience, try out IC2 first, the lower tier designs, then try some EE, but save all Redpower2 machinery and designs until you are VERY familiar with the rest of the mods, for it is hands down the most difficult mod of the 3. Any questions, feel free to respond. Post in a numeric way

Sure, a Tekkit server would be helpful, considering I'm just dicking around in creative and not actually playing the game

4. WHAT AM I DOING
1. Redpower is used for sorting, more intricate designes, and, for the most part, not to be touched until after IC2, in my experience.
2. Create power to run IC2 machinery, for mechanical macerating, extracting, smelting, etc, and nuclear power, when mastered and controlled, can emit LARGE amounts of energy.
3. Um, batteries are portable so you can move small amounts of IC2 power. Computers, I wouldn't worry about that too much yet, because I don't even know much about it, and I've covered all of Tekkit, and most of Technic.
4. Lol big question, but it's on everyone's minds when they begin tekkit. Just look around wikis, youtube, etc etc, stuff like that. Essentially, just start with vanilla minecraft, then when you get some diamonds and a good supply of minerals, tin, copper, etc, then test with some Industrial craft (IC2). Once you are good with that, try some Equivilant Exchange (EE). Move along with those two, progressing with knowledge, for both of them will ease your progression. I wouldn't go into redpower until you are VERY comfortable with EE and IC2.
Again, post questions if you have any
